Open Wide...
We finally have exclusive photos and video from rehearsals for Little Shop of Horrors. I'm very excited to bring these to you as they give you a really nice glimpse into what rehearsals have been like and how the show is progressing. Click here for my Flickr photostream:

These photos are from rehearsals before Tech started, which means no set, no costumes--just some props, a piano, and their raw talent. And they're GOOD. Believe it! If you don't, here a short video of the final number "Don't Feed the Plants", in which you can hear their angelic voices warning you of the dangers of, well, feeding carnivorous plants.
The cast and creative team have been so gracious in letting me sit in on rehearsals and it has been a lot of fun. They're laid back and collaborative, and always full of laughter and new ideas. Evan Casey plays a sinister Orin Scrivello, which contrasts nicely with the sweet and innocent Audrey and Seymour, played by real-life married couple Jenna Coker-Jones and Christopher Kale Jones. The sassy, streetwise Doo Wop Girls (played by Felicia Curry, Eleasha Gamble, and Kara Tameika-Watkins) have amazing voices and attitudes to match. Not to mention the hilarious Christopher Bloch, playing Mr. Mushnik, and Elliot Dash (Audrey 2), whose big personality matches his big voice. The cast is small but fierce and they're all top notch performers. I can't wait to see it all put together!
So thank you for stopping by my little blog and please check back in a few days for an EXCLUSIVE interivew with Elliott Dash, who has a lot of interesting things to say about that process. Also be sure to check my Facebook and Twitter pages for special promotions, contests, and deals on tickets to the show, which opens in less than two weeks!
Take care, katie b :)
